The campaign “GIVEUP TO GIVE BACK” aims to inspire people to give up specific habits – like the use of plastic – which are abusing the environment, and instead, make environment-friendly choices. On March 24, 2018, Nagarro supported the WWF #earthhour2018 launch, where we as an organization pledged to give up using plastic. Since then, we have started a lot of activities to ensure, that the things we own don’t own us.
We are deeply passionate about preserving our environment and our green initiatives pin down the same conviction. Every year around the Independence Day, we eagerly wait to renew our vows with nature through tree plantation drives. We plant saplings in various areas with the objective to create greener landscapes and see these saplings grow into full-fledged trees. Further, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, we contribute by backing the citizens for enforcing strict laws against waste burning practices.
Our active commuting initiatives - walkathons, cyclothons, and marathons- are our ways of taking care of the planet. In the same spirit, we have installed cycle stations at all Nagarrro buildings. Likewise, Nagarrians actively participate in the Car Free Challenge and switch to sustainable trips like telecommuting, walking, cycling, carpooling, and taking public transport. Further, Nagarro is a proud supporter and sponsor of Raahgiri Day- India’s first sustained car-free day launched in Gurugram in 2013. Raahgiri Day is a weekly road event that sees roads shut down to motorized traffic and open to pedestrians, cyclists, skaters, and everyone who cares to devote time to the environment.
