Hackathon

We are overwhelmed with the response to the crack-a-code Hackathon!

Nagarro in association with CSOFTMTY (Consejo de Software de Nuevo León), successfully concluded crack-a-code, Mexico's biggest hackathon ever! Crack-a-code was a unique opportunity that tested students' creativity, logic, intelligence, and skills through a series of challenges that motivated and inspired a future generation of software engineers. Participants attended three exclusive talks from worldwide industry experts, got hands-on coding experience via two coding challenges (Pro League and Champions League), and won exciting prizes, badges, and Swag boxes throughout this mega event that spanned six weeks!
Highlights

Multiple quizzes, games, and activities, spread over a period of six weeks
Grand prizes won by top three winners, plus a work opportunity for the best coders
Participation certificate for all participants of the Pro League and Champions League challenges
HACKATHON SUMMARY

The hackathon was a fun-filled learning journey, comprising of two leagues. High performers were offered internship/job opportunities and there were several exciting prizes for different challenges such as vouchers, Amazon gift vouchers, badges, and Nagarro's goodies.

 

Round 1

Pro League

The Pro League challenge was conducted in two phases.

Phase 1 consisted of MCQs to test students’ knowledge.

Phase 2 was a 'Hunt-the-Bug' challenge.

In Phase 1, students faced multiple MCQ challenges to test their knowledge around analytical skills, database, programming, software engineering, IoT, etc.

  • 1st MCQ Challenge: 15 questions based on IQ patterns tested knowledge around analytical skills and IQ level.
  • 2nd MCQ Challenge: 30 technical questions tested database knowledge, programming skills, software engineering skills, etc. The complexity level was easy.
  • 3rd MCQ Challenge: 25 technical questions tested database knowledge, programming skills, software engineering, etc. The complexity level was medium.

Phase 2 (Hunt-the-Bug) had a problem statement around which participants found out bugs in an application. They then reported the summary of the bugs within the time provided. (Online submission)

Champions League

The Champions-league Challenge was a programming-focused challenge that aimed to motivate a new generation of IT professionals to put their skills to the test. 

In this challenge, students attempted two coding coding challenges in their choice of Language supported by TechGig. The duration for each coding challenge was 90 Minutes.

MCQs and Hunt-the-Bug Challenge
The objective of the Pro-League challenge is to judge the IQ level of students and to test whether a student can understand a problem statement, and apply skills to come up with a solution.

Programming-focused challenge
The objective of the Champions League challenge is to test students' knowledge of different programming languages with logical development skillsets.
