With SAP support for its existing ERP systems approaching its end, Thieme needed to modernize a highly customized SAP landscape within a defined timeframe while minimizing operational risk. The existing ERP environment had been tailored specifically to the company's publishing business, including the IS-Media solution, which is no longer available in SAP S/4HANA. Nagarro supported Thieme throughout the SAP S/4HANA transformation with a structured LEAN Brownfield methodology designed to reduce project complexity while preserving proven business processes.

The engagement began with a comprehensive transformation assessment, including SAP Readiness Check and Custom Code analysis, to evaluate the existing landscape and prepare the migration roadmap. Obsolete IS-Media functionality was replaced by a dedicated integrated media solution within a modern Fiori application.

Additional optimization measures, including data cleansing, archiving activities, and the implementation of a generalized helper concept, ensured a clean and efficient target environment.

Following the SAP Activate methodology, Nagarro executed sandbox conversions, end-to-end process testing, and a controlled Brownfield conversion using standard SAP tools. This approach minimized business disruption while creating a scalable SAP S/4HANA platform that supports future innovation.
