From legacy constraints to a scalable gateway platform

Scaling future growth beyond legacy architecture  

Key challenges with the legacy gateway included:

• Limited extensibility for new features and protocols 
• Increased complexity in maintaining and scaling the system

The challenge was not simply to modernize the gateway, but to build a future-ready platform without disrupting existing deployments or compromising compatibility with the installed base.  

Building a modular, future-ready IoT gateway platform 

To overcome these limitations, through a collaborative design approach, developed a Yocto Linux-based IoT gateway that improved scalability, flexibility, maintainability, and support for future integrations. 

The modernized IoT gateway platform include:

• Modular service-based framework for independent development and scaling  

• API-driven interfaces for seamless ecosystem integration  

• Integrated data management for reliable performance  

• Hardware-agnostic test automation for faster validation and releases
