Unifying and optimizing quoting process with Oracle CPQ


The client wanted to utilize SAP CPQ for their quoting systems in Germany. Multiple third-party tools for automation purposes and material request receipts in country-specific formats complicated the entire quoting process.

These formats were inhibiting a seamless integration of Salesforce and SAP systems.

The client wanted to eliminate any uncertainties regarding the feasibility of customizing this process within CPQ. They needed a tech partner who would factor in these challenges and develop a solution to optimize the quoting process.


The discovery workshop helped us understand the existing processes, challenges, and tools. This analysis pinpointed manual bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
We crafted a comprehensive report outlining the identified challenges and solutions, which served as a roadmap and offered clear recommendations for optimizing the quoting process.

Nagarro built a Proof of Concept (POC), laying the groundwork for transitioning to the global unified platform, Oracle CPQ. The PoC involved building a solution directly connecting Salesforce and Oracle CPQ, minimizing reliance on third-party tools. 
The team leveraged Oracle CPQ's Scheduler functionality to automate the creation of quotes from pending Salesforce cases. The PoC efficiently utilized OAuth-based Salesforce REST APIs to process distributor files from the Salesforce Case. These files were then presented in an easily comprehensible tabular format within Oracle CPQ.

Nagarro's Proof of Concept (POC) demonstrated how Oracle CPQ can effectively address the client's country-specific challenges, increase efficiency and reduce errors. This instilled confidence in the chosen approach, and the client assigned us the full-scale implementation of the optimized quoting process for all country-specific formats. We have successfully implemented phase one of the project, and the client has already witnessed value across the quoting journey.


We helped the client reduce manual intervention, minimize errors, and expedite quote generation. It also replaced custom solutions and enhanced process efficiency and performance by using Oracle CPQ's Out-of-the-Box (OOB) capabilities, such as transaction arrays, to streamline the presentation of file attachments and contact data.

The client witnessed:

100% improvement in compliance as manual tasks are reduced, and quotes are automatically created from predefined country-specific constraints.

60% - 70% increase in the efficiency of quote creation through automation.

20% reduction in quote processing time.
