The Client

ADMIRAL Technologies GmbH is an Austrian company, founded in 2023, as part of ADMIRAL Sportwetten GmbH within the ADMIRAL Group. Specializing in sports betting services, it has a strong presence in Austria. As a B2B provider of sports betting solutions, ADMIRAL Technologies offers end-to-end services, including product design, development, operation, and bookmaking.

Collaborating with various operators across European markets — both online and land-based — ADMIRAL Technologies emphasizes responsible entertainment, ensuring a safe and enjoyable betting experience for its customers.

With its international expansion strategy, ADMIRAL Technologies needed to deliver services to new customers reliably and efficiently. Additionally, as part of the normal hardware lifecycle, they faced a critical decision: replace on-premises hardware or migrate to the cloud.

After thorough evaluation, they opted for a cloud-first approach, choosing AWS Cloud. This decision brought forth the challenge of preparing and testing all systems and applications for a seamless migration without disrupting ongoing operations. Simultaneously, they sought to consolidate their historically complex IT landscape.

A well-defined business case empowered ADMIRAL Technologies’s leadership to make informed decisions, ensuring IT resources were fully prepared and optimally utilized. Nagarro partnered with AWS, collaborating closely with ADMIRAL Technologies’s Product Operations team to design a robust cloud migration strategy.

Following the AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) and migration strategy frameworks, a comprehensive project plan was crafted. The initial step involved a lift-and-shift migration — moving the existing infrastructure to AWS with the necessary technology and software changes to mitigate conversion risks.

Today, ADMIRAL Technologies runs its entire sports betting solution — including all environments, development tools, and lifecycle services — on AWS.
