challenge

As part of its modernization journey, the client set out to enhance and streamline its existing systems, which brought a few operational and organizational challenges. Some applications lacked detailed technical documentation, and access to the client’s infrastructure was limited during the early stages. The program also depended on close collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including the client’s Cloud Center of Excellence and third party providers, requiring coordination across geographies and time zones.

Nagarro worked in alignment with the client's Cloud Center of Excellence to deliver a structured cloud migration program to transition SRM workloads to Microsoft Azure. The migration focused on modernizing the chosen group company's infrastructure while maintaining operational continuity.
We took a cloud-first migration strategy, prioritizing preparation and validation to ensure smooth cutover during the migration phase. As responsibilities were distributed among multiple providers, Nagarro led the migration of seven critical applications and nine supporting services.

The modernization delivered tangible benefits, including improved infrastructure scalability, reduced operational overhead, enhanced system resilience, and a lower environmental footprint. It also established a strong foundation for broader cloud adoption across the client's global business units.
As a pilot initiative, the project successfully validated their cloud migration framework, demonstrating its readiness for future workloads. Most importantly, it enabled a modern, scalable infrastructure for critical energy supply operations, achieved with zero disruption to business operations throughout the migration period.
