RISE with SAP is designed to support the move to the cloud, but many responsibilities related to operations still remain with the customer. These responsibilities are not always clearly understood upfront, and organizations often only recognize them once the transition is already in progress.
As a result, we frequently see companies underestimate the operational effort, resources, and internal capabilities required to transition to and run SAP on RISE. Areas such as application management, integrations, application security, analysis, monitoring, and change management are often assumed to be fully covered, while in practice they still require customer ownership and planning.
