After the Original

Art, AI, and the strategic value of intellectual property

September 10, 2026 | 5:30 pm CEST
Nagarro Hive in Vienna, Austria

An evening at the intersection of art, technology, and business.

Innovation today is shaped by the interplay of human creativity, data, and AI systems. As technology reshapes how ideas are created, transformed, and scaled, questions around originality, authorship, ownership, and value creation are becoming increasingly relevant for companies.

At the Nagarro Art Forum 2026, we invite decision-makers from IT, digitalization, and business to explore one central question: Who owns innovation?

The evening brings together Georg Pummer’s exhibition "After the Original" and a keynote by digital law expert Katharina Bisset. Through contemporary art, expert insight, and personal exchange, we will explore why intellectual property is becoming a strategic business priority in the age of AI — not only as a matter of protection, but as a driver of innovation, responsibility, and competitive value.

After the Original

In "After the Original," Austrian artist Georg Pummer explores the fragile nature of images and the inevitability of transience through a distinctive artistic language of preservation, distortion, and transformation.

His acrylic paintings are known for their striking video-like aesthetic, evoking digital image errors, screen glitches, pixelation, and fragmented displays. Carefully composed disruptions and distortions give his works an almost electronically generated appearance — while remaining deeply rooted in the craft of painting.

Georg’s visual language moves between reality and dream, familiarity and irritation. His works open a space for reflection on perception, originality, authorship, and the transformation of existing visual material into something new.

“My artworks are a painterly interpretation of digital photographic motifs and symbolize the fusion of tradition and technology.”

Based near Herzogenburg in Lower Austria, Georg Pummer works as a freelance artist and has established himself as a pioneer of the glitch style. His acrylic paintings elevate deliberately integrated visual disruptions into an aesthetic principle, creating a distinctive visual language with an almost digital appearance. His works are shaped by distortion, fragmentation, and a striking video-like aesthetic, evoking associations with screen glitches, pixelation, and image errors. They have been exhibited internationally, including in the USA, China, South Korea, Italy, Spain, England, and France, and are represented in numerous private collections around the world.
