Katharina Zlöbl was born on August 3rd, 1963 in Radstadt, Salzburg. There she grew up with six younger siblings on a mountain farm in Neukirchen on Großvenediger and moved to Salzburg at the age of 17. She attended a private school for cosmetics, massage and health training and married at the age of 22, then studied psychology and history and holds a PhD in philosophy. Since 2000 she has been studying painting at the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg with Zhou Brothers and Hubert Scheibl. Artistic concept: The preferred painting ground for her works is the canvas. In addition to the basic materials, substances from the realm of nature are also used: cement, sand and coffee. As a painting medium, she mainly uses acrylic paints in earthy tones and oil paints. Her pictorial imagination is nourished by her fantasy, by images from nature, by every day adventures and the miracles of her life. Emotions decisively influence her creativity as a painter. The pictures are evidence of her passionate dedication to her artistic mission, and she enjoys abstract geographical formations. Through aesthetics and expression in her paintings, she tries to inspire the viewer.
