Beyond Play: Writing Maintainable Code in Unity3D

Unity is often seen as a playground for creative experimentation, but what happens when your project grows beyond the prototype? Together we’ll explore Unity development through the lens of a software engineer, focusing on how to write clean, scalable, and maintainable code.

We’ll dive into how principles like SOLID, separation of concerns, and clean code can be thoughtfully adapted to Unity’s unique component-based structure. From MonoBehaviours to ScriptableObjects, we’ll examine how to balance engineering discipline with Unity’s design philosophy, and how to avoid common pitfalls that lead to tangled hierarchies and brittle gameplay logic.

Business Analysis: The Bridge Between Business and Technology

The hardest part of any project isn’t building the solution, it’s understanding the real problem it should solve. Business Analysts (BAs) help teams uncover what is truly needed, make sure that the solution delivers value, and maintain clarity so that decisions remain transparent even years later. In this Tech MAPS presentation we’ll look at how BAs connect business and technology by focusing on needs, value, and traceability, turning ideas into solutions that stand the test of time.

IoT Mobile, data collecting, and AI Integration

This presentation explores the development of native Android and iOS platforms that have mobile applications designed to connect seamlessly to a wide range of Nordic Semiconductor development boards and integrated Nordic wireless chips in smartphones. Leveraging both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), the mobile apps act as intelligent gateways for real-time data collection, device management, and system monitoring. AI is also used for negotiating maximum available MTU for transfers and connection management.

AI Era: Prompts, what about them?

Formal: Prompts are basically the instructions or inputs given to an AI (like me) to generate a response. They can be as simple as a question or as detailed as a structured request for specific content. The way you phrase a prompt influences the quality and relevance of the response.

Are you asking about how to craft better prompts, different types of prompts, or something else?

Friendly: Prompts? They’re basically instructions or questions that guide a response—whether for AI, creative writing, coding, or even brainstorming ideas.

Are you thinking about AI prompts (like for ChatGPT or image generation) or something else?

Introduction to Git and Github

Did you ever want to know how multiple programmers collaborate on the same codebase? Git and Github are the same thing to you? Are you tired of always creating new folders for your own code which look like: "My Project Sep. 2024", "My Project Final", "My Project Final 2", "My Project New Final"? If so, this is the presentation for you. Join us to get the answer to all of the above issues plus a nice intro to Git so that you can start using it right away.
